Fred W. has been training with MADE for some time on an off. When he returned in the Fall of 2024 he was on a mission. I remember on his first day back he said “Coach I think I’m going to try out for the team this year.” Since then, Fred has made it a point to train and really focus on things he knew he needed to get better at. Additionally, Fred buckled down in the classroom and even improved his grades in some of his classes. The week before tryouts Fred came in one last time to train and participate in Midnight Run. When I asked him if he thought he was ready for tryouts, he said with confidence “I think I am”. The following week after tryouts, Fred sprinted into the gym just to share with his MADE family the good news! He had made the team! The entire gym clapped and celebrated his accomplishment. This was truly a MADE moment!
