What is March Madness?

All the craze of the competitive gameplay and huge impact tournament has on sports culture has earned the tournament the title of March Madness. During this tournament 64 teams compete for the National College Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship. It is an age-old tradition for college basketball fans across the globe to join in on the tournament hype by attempting to create a tournament bracket that accurately predicts the winner of each game and ultimately the winners of the NCAA Championship. In the old days this was done using pen and paper, but today ESPN has created a platform that makes it easy for fans all over to take their best shot a designing a winning bracket. Here’s how it works:

How To Win

The object of the game is simple: Correctly pick the winner of the most matches in the 63 games following the “First Four” round of the tournament. A correct selection in the second round counts as 10 points, and in the third round the point value is doubled. (See the table below for more details about the scoring breakdown).
